I live in Kawagoe-city Saitama-prefecture Japan. There are many traditional warehouses in Kawagoe. So many Japanese and the people from overseas come to sightseeing. http://www.koedo.or.jp/foreign/english/index.html

  1. Good morning, my husband and I are moving into a newly purchased home after living in a condo for 6 years. Needless to say, at the condo I only could plant into flowerpots. Here we have .78 acre of land… I have always loved gardening, but with so much land I wouldn’t even know where to start… Any suggestions? Thank you!

    1. 78 acre is awesome. If I have the land, I would like to plant apple, orange and persimmon trees. In addition, I plant rice. It must be great land. Good luck.

  2. cocomino

  3. Your garden is looking beautiful. The cat mint flower is lovely. it is getting cooler down here so planting is not high on our list at the moment. I did try plant a few succulants the other day but the village pigs came wondering through and dug every thing up! Very frustrating. Your garden looks better organised!

  4. You have some beautiful and colourful plants in your garden – how lovely! We have catmint and dogwood – although this particular variety of dogwood is less common. One often sees it in specialist gardens. I love your photo of the dogwood flower and the way the light catches it 🙂

  5. Yes, it’s been comfortable, not cold and not too hot, just right weather. Looks like your garden was transformed into early summer attire. Cherry sage is thriving in my garden, too.

  6. I think all of them bloom here. The kousa dogwood I believe is called Korean dogwood here. But I am not so good on things from the garden. We say that people like you, who can make stuff grow so well in your gardens, have a “green thumb.”
I wish it were different, but I’m afraid I have a “black thumb.”
    😦

    1. Thanks for sharing. I didn’t know a “black thumb.” It’s interesting. There aren’t such words in Japanese. I hope that you also enjoy flowers. 🙂

  7. 色彩豊かで美しい庭ですね。この花はキモノケイトウと言うのですか。ちっちゃくて可愛らしいです。娘さんも喜びそうですね。
