Parents meeting

The other day I attended a parents meeting session at 19:30.
The meeting was held in an after-school day-care center located in an elementary school.

Parents who leave our elder daughter with the center and instructors gather monthly to talk
about their children’s events, daily affairs and problems.

The subject of the meeting was to decide a board for the next year.
The kind of board needed is as below.

・President. one person
The president is the moderator of the parents meeting and attends presidents meeting.
・Vice-president. three people
They support the president and are people held responsibile for camps,
children festivals, and parent and child events for every individual.
・Accounts. two people
・after-school day-care center union one person
He/she is in charge of negotiating the direction with the city government which runs after-school day-care centers

I heard that it took five hours to decide on the members of the board in another center last year.Everyone didn’t want to become a board for various reason.I was very anxious until the meeting would close.

In the end I applied for the position as a member of the after-school day-care center union.
Everyone could get home at 21:00 since some parents volunteered to be members of the board.

I wonder about my abilty to accomplish the job.
That’s the way it goes.

I live in Kawagoe-city Saitama-prefecture Japan. There are many traditional warehouses in Kawagoe. So many Japanese and the people from overseas come to sightseeing.

  1. Me and husband need to attend it this end of month. We purposely skipped last year’s because neither of us want to be selected on the board. There’ll be way to many meetings to attend! o.O
