Karuta of Proverbs
My family and I enjoy playing these karuta.
You can learn old Japanese proverbs from it.
This karuta says, “You hide your head while you show your bottom.”
It means that you can’t hide all crimes if you hide one of them.
This karuta says, “You prefer food over flowers”
It means that you prefer actual benefits to appearances.
This karuta says, “If you like something, your skill in it will improve,” (What one likes, one will do best)
That’s true.
Have a wonderful day!
