Bicycle Rental
This is a new project of city of Kawagoe.
You can rent a bicycle there. They are smaller than usual ones.
You need a credit card to rent a bicycle. It took 200 yen to use it one day.
You can find bicycle spaces with this map. You can rent and return them at a place where you like.
One of the goal of this project is to reduce cars and find interesting spots in the town.
This is a good idea. We also have bicycle rentals in the summer.

飛鳥へいったときに、レンタル自転車で颯爽と走っていく若者グループに何度も会いました。 私のそばを爽やかな風がふきぬけていくようでした。
奈良はアップダウンがあるので電動式のレンタルも普及してほしいです。

電動式なら坂道も楽ですね。
オランダに行った時、すごい数の自転車があって驚きました。坂道が少ないのも普及している原因だそうです。

We have the same system (in the nearest town). Renting bikes is very smart, for the environment and for people.

It is a great idea! We have them in some parts of the UK including London and a couple of University towns but not where I live – as yet!

What a good idea! I wonder if the town I live in would be interested — they pride themselves on being bicycle friendly, but i’ve never seen anything like this.

I was there last month and saw one of these! Was really sad that it requires a credit card, otherwise I would have used it to cycle the entire day I was in Kawagoe. But I had fun walking though.
