Blowing Out the Candles
The other day was my oldest daughter’s ninth birthday
My oldest daughter put nine candles on the chocolate cake
It’s common in our country
She enjoyed blowing out the candles on the cake while we sang the song of Happy Birthday
Do you blow out the candles like this?
It was first for my youngest daughter to eat a cake including eggs
Fortunately, my youngest daughter got better from her allergy
All of us ate similar cakes on that day
A happy birthday to your daughter. It is a great tradition and we follow something similar
Thank you so much Whem I was a child, I followed same tradition
We normally put them on the whole cake, and then cut it up into small pices afterwards. For my girls’ birthday parties I make a large one and there are only crumbs remaining
I see As you say, many people eat a whole cake but we wanted to eat our favorite taste such as cholate, cheese and shortcakes on that day

Happy birthday to your daughter! We put on candles like that too, even for adults. Of course, if they get too old, it becomes a problem. If someone is 90, the candles are like a forest fire and the first ones are melted before they all get lit.

In Italy,we follow the same habit as in America. We put the candles on a large cake and sing the song while he/she blows them out. Then we cut the cake into slices…..
But I loved that only big slice with all the different candles on…..

In Italy we use to put the candles on a large cake and then sing Happy Birthday as he/she blows them out….

Yes, here we have a whole cake so the candles are more spread out on it. Of course, people my age only put one candle in the middle! Otherwise we’d have to call the fire department.
