My oldest daughter is keen on knitting scarfs

She uses a pet bottle and disposable wooden chopsticks to make scarfs

She looks enjoying doing simple task silently

She’s working both at day care and home for many hours
When she works, she can’t hear whatever we say

Thanks to her effort, her sister, her mother and I got nice scarfs :)

  1. Your kids are the best! They seem so sweet and talented and most importantly, childlike! I’m sure you know how rare those 3 qualities are in modern society: give yourself and ENORMO pat on the back for encouraging all the right values!

I want that device she uses to make the scarves! Is it homemade? If so, are commercial versions available? I’ve never seen anything like it!

  3. What a great idea and beautiful scarfs!
Many, many years ago, when I was a student in a Japanese elementary school, my sisters and I bought this wooden tube which fit in our palms (like a handle of a jumping rope). It had about 6 tiny nails on the top and came with a small metal bar/needle to knit with… it was called ‘ri ri an’ (not sure with the spelling). We knitted colorful ropes (the same way your daughter is knitting). It could be used like ribbons on the hair or some used the ropes to further weave into bags or little trinkets. Do you know what I am talking about? :D Fae.
