Minnie mouse is drawn on “kamaboko ” (steamed fish paste). It’s said that all food bring happiness.
This soup is “Ozouni” which is also food for new year It contains a rice cake.

Yum! I really like ozouni
We used to spend two days preparing the Japanese new year meal. It was quite elaborate. Now, we simplified, but still carry on part of the tradition.
