Another Shirine

shirine

We visited this shrine called 川越三芳野神社 (kawagoe miyoshino jinjya) the other day. It’s said that “通りゃんせ” which is an old song for kids is originated this place.

  1. Torianse?

    It is an interesting song.

And by the way of how children play while singing this song (forming an arch to pass through and going round and round until someone is caught) reminded me of how we played “London Bridge” :)

  2. Is this the same song that you often hear at traffic crossings?

This version that you’ve posted is particularly beautiful.

PS: I like the red, black and white combination in the top photo.
