Old Churches in Holland

As you may imagine, many old churches still remain in Holland.
Almost all cities have their own churches which are located in the center of the cities. They are connected to the square, shops and houses.

This is the oldest church in Amsterdam. I was surprised that it’s located in the red-light district and coffee shops.

This church is located in Breda which is in the southern part of Holland. The church is very big although the city is small. The churches must have been very important as well as our shirines and temples.

  1. Great photos…. Like you, I love taking photos of the interior of churches… so much to see. I’m sorry to have been out of the loop. It has been very hectic with all sorts of issues too. Blessings to you CoCo! :-)

Maybe they need church more than others. ;-)

Great photos! Reminds me of the churches in down Dublin, Ireland. European churches are very beautiful with so much tradition.

  3. It’s in a red-light district? That reminds me of Senso-ji around the corner and Yasaka Jinja in Gion, which were/are both next to entertainment districts! ^^

Beautiful photos! I love the interior of European churches, and those magnificent arches that draw your eyes upwards.

  4. Really beautiful! I am enjoying seeing the Netherlands through your lens. Have you been travelling around much? It looks like a really fascinating country! Take care and many greetings from us, Sharon

  5. You are certainly getting around all over Holland! The photos of the churches are quite wonderful. You say you are going back to Japan next week. This has been quite an adventure. Coming home will have its strangeness, perhaps, as well as its happiness.
Looking forward to your future posts!
