A Canal in Amsterdam
I just arrived in Amsterdam from Helsinki. Holland is also an European country where I can use euro. However, the city scenery is quite different from Helsinki.
The most interesting thing about Amsterdam is the canal.
As you know, Holland drains water into the sea in many areas. Then people built their houses along the canals.
The old houses still remain although some of them are leaning over.
You can also see boat houses on the water. People who live in these houses can use electricity, water and sewerage. But of course, they have to pay tax.
PS : There are many posts which I haven’t written about Finland. So sometimes, I’ll post some of them.

Thanks for including us in your world travels!
I’ve always thought houseboats were kind of cool.
Thank you so much. I found houseboats museum although I have never visited yet.
I loved taking a boat down the canal in Amsterdam. Looking at your pictures brought those memories back
Thanks much. That’s nice because you have also visited Amsterdam. It’s a cool canal.
What a wonderful experience to see this firsthand. I can’t imagine living on a houseboat. One has to get used to the swaying motion.
I think so. It’s very unique to live on a houseboat. The living must be very fun.
You’re in Holland! Welkom! (You can figure out that Dutch word, can’t you? ^^) It makes the nomad and her ancestors very happy that you’re there. I hope you have a wonderful time, and I’m REALLY looking forward to all your posts.
PS: Amsterdam houses are just as narrow as Tokyo houses.
Thanks much. Of course, I know only “Dank u” .
I’ll enjoy both my job and sight seeing as much as possible.
The size of Amsterdam houses is similar to Tokyo’s ones, I guess. It’s interesting.
Amsterdam is a beautiful city and the canals are part of that beauty. We had diner on a house boat in Amsterdam and it was an unforgettable experience.
Oh, that’s a great experience. It must be very fun and precious.
Bro, that is one exciting and beautiful Euro travel. Stunning and adventurous images. Made me feel that I was there myself. Wonderful images. Have a great weekend.
Thank you so much. I’m glad to hear that. It’s so exciting. Have a wonderful weekend, too.

Nice photos of Amsterdam! I worked in the Netherlands and I’ve also visited Amsterdam. I really enjoyed the boat ride I took, but I didn’t get to visit any of the museums.
That’s great. Your experience must be good. I visited the national museums in Amsterdam. It’s cool.
The buildings are so very close to the water. It is interesting.
Yes, thank you so much. It’s very nice.
A few of my friends live in Amsterdam! They all tell my nice things of it, i guess i will be visiting it at some point! Lovely shots!

I’m sure that you can enjoy Amsterdam if you go to here.
How wonderful that you are now in the Netherlands! It’s interesting to see the buildings around the canal.
Thank you so much. The Netherlands is very intresting country as well as Finland. I didn’t know this interesting canal.
boat-houses – maybe a solution for over-crowded Japan too?
That’s a good idea. Someone had better try it.
You are having quite an adventure! Because of illness, I’m behind on viewing posts, so I’m still looking forward to catching up on Helsinki —-
Thank you for catching my posts. I really apriciate it. It’s interesting to know the other countries.
