Weekly Photo Challenge: Urban
This place is in Shinjyuku, Tokyo. It’s one of the city cities in Japan.
This area is called a high building area. There are many buildings which are over 20 floors.
So, even 10 floor buildings look small. In addition, human beings are tiny and the wind between high buildings is strong. The streets are no longer for people but for cars.
I’m curious about how the buildings in the future will be built.
Will they be built higher or lower(under ground)?
PS: I added two photos taken by iPhone. It’s interesting, isn’t it?
PS02: I’ll not see such crowded city for a short period.I’ll write about it next post. See you soon.

Nice capture.
Thank you.
For the first time, I get to comment first. Haha.. =D I always hear Shinjyuku when I study Japanese. Finally, there is a picture to the name!
Haha. Shinjyuku is really crowded. I get tired soon.
Wow, that is a really big building!
Indeed.It’s huge.
That’s a great picture. I really like the pattern of the roads. I am fascinated with city planning.
Thank you. The city planning influenced Tokyo a lot. There are city areas and local areas. They are different from each other.
Good photos, it is amazing how good the iphone’s camera is.
Thanks. iPhone photo is better than we think.
That’s a wonderful photograph! I love the architecture of the big building – it reminds me a little of the ‘Gherkin’ in London, UK.
I checked Gherkin and noticed that they are similar to this building. The architect must have researched Gherkin.
I did a double take!! it’s so much like that London building, just like meanderer mentioned, above!
Tokyo definitely comes to mind when i think “urban.” Every picture I’ve ever seen is full of high-risees and bustling with people! You can see the energy everywhere you look!
Thanks. I didn’t know that. It’s very interesting. The city area is like a laboratory of new design buildings.
Can’t get any more urban than this!
Hmmm, maybe so. Thanks!
very cool looking architecture on that tall one!
Many thanks. It’s like a monster of building.
You were in the Odakyu Department Store?
You won’t see such crowded scenes? Where are you going?
I sometimes work in this area. It’s not that crowded in the Nishi-Shinjuku office area, and I never get tired of looking at the skyscrapers. Some streets are wind tunnels, but others have gorgeous massive ケヤキ. That’s nice, too.
PS: But I still think the shitamachi is the best.
Yes, I ate lunch in Odakyu. The place where I will visit is still secret but open soon.
Certainly, ケヤキ is good and shitamachi is better than the city area.
Great picture! I love Shinjuku in Tokyo as it is a place you can really feel the atmosphere of Tokyo.
The atmosphere is unique and interesting to walk around. I’m glad that you like it.
Wow! Cool urban scene. The huge, webbed-like building got my attention. Looks like it came from the future!
Thank you so much. As you say, it’s like a future building. It’s very unique.
I very well remember Shijyuku from my visit. Its station was indeed very crowded. That building is a terrific capture! I so admire the futuristic creations of Japan
Thank you. It’s really crowded but has strong energy of the city.
I remember this spot. The “quiet”side of Shinjuku station and very close to Bic Cameras and lots of shopping.
That’s right. There are many electrical appliance stores and many people gather there.
I got a feeling as if I had seen a futuristic city in a SF movie. Fabulous photo!
When I went to Mori Buildings, I saw a traditional Japanese garden surrounded by skyscrapers . . Surprisingly enough, I thought they fit each other and never felt strangeness. For a temporary visitor like me, Tokyo is super attractive.
Thank you so much. Mori BUildings also built many skyscrapers which are unique and amazing. As you say, Tokyo has a power to attractive people than we think.
superbe le traitement des couleurs
Thank you so much. I’m glad to hear that.
Very interesting indeed!
I would LOVE to visit Tokyo! From what I’ve heard the energy is amazing… I’m not sure I could always keep up, but the images I’ve seen look so beautiful! It seems like it would be a fascinating place!
I forgot to mention how stunning your photograph is, too, sir!
Amazing!
Thank you so much. Tokyo has a strong energy, I think. I wish that you could come here.
What an interesting mesh-like architecture! Great photo, Cocomino!
Thank you. Glad to hear that.
Marvelous urban designs this city does draw!
I think so. It’s a unique city
Great shot.
Beautiful view.
Many thanks. Happy to hear that.
SUBARU
That’s right. It’s a car company.
Brilliant photos.
Many thanks!
Iphone takes great picture, isn’t it?
Of course, yes, you know.
