About Gunma 03 : Old Shrine 一之宮貫前神社
I visited the largest shrine in Tomioka city. 富岡市
Surprisingly, it was built 1,400 years ago. Tokugawa Iemitsu（徳川家光）, who was third emperor during the Edo era, ordered the shrine to be built.
Now, it’s designated as a national cultural asset.
The most interesting characteristic is that you go down the stairs after passing through the large gate and pray in the low area.
(Generally most temples and shrines are located on a high level.)
I often see the impressive red color in other famous shirines.
I respect the detail of the building , as always.
More than 70 events are held even now. The shrine is still an important place in the town.
