About Gunma 02 : March of Cows in The Farm
Anyway, you can see many cows in the farm.
This cow is a baby. Surprisingly, this cow was born 7 days ago. It’s rare to see such baby cows.
You can also touch them. We heard that the temperature was always 38 degree. It’s hot, isn’t it?
You can also milk a cow by yourselves. You need a bit braveness and skill.
However, the most exciting thing in the farm was the march of many cows.
You can see it once a day but it’s worth to wait for it. That’s because it’s very rare to see it in Japanese farms.
You can see them at a place very close to them. Some cows were running. Some cows were swinging by.
I noticed that there were few staff around the march.
If the farm is located in city areas, you might find many staff surrounding the march to protect the children and other people from the cows because if someone is injured by the cows, the owner of the farm will be prohibited to hold the event.
I was glad to know that there was such a generous farm in Japan.

I love cows, they give us great food, like milk and cheese, and they are very friendly if they are used to people. Nice to see, Cocomino, but they are different from norwegian cows.
Thank you. As you say, we should thank cows much more because of their food.
As a rule, they are gentle and friendly.
Look at that little calf! Is that cute or what?
Your post has brought back many memories. I used to milk goats on my grandmother’s farm …
The calf was very cute and had pure eyes.
Since I seldom visit a farm when I was a child, your memory is very nice, I think.
It’s a bit unusual (and very interesting / fun) so see so many cows roaming down a paved road… I don’t think I have ever seen anything quite like that! I grew up in a very rural area, but all the cows I’ve ever seen have been standing in in fields or pastures.
I see. I also saw it for the first time. It was very interesting to see the strong march.
This is such a wonderful post… I love cows and to see them marching would be fun to me… What a neat thing.
Thanks. We really enjoyed it and were lucky to visit there.
The calf is very cute. It is good to learn about animals.
I saw the calf for the first time. It’s very cute.
I love the picture of the baby cow. Look at those big eyes! It’s so cute!
That’s true. The big eyes were very impressive.
What a sweet calf.
Yes, thanks!
How interesting to see the cows marching speedily along the road! I don’t remember seeing cows doing that. I’ve seen them mainly standing (or sitting) and eating in fields!
Thanks much. The cows sounded to get accustomed to walk on the road together. The march is their habit.
It’s always fun to visit a farm, isn’t it?
Yes, we like visiting a farm and a zoo.
I’ve seen a lot of cows in various countries, but never on the road. Except when I was young in Newfoundland. There, the cows were loose and would walk where they wanted to. Was that you in the third picture?
I see. Basically, they are loose.
There is a staff of the farm in the third photo(not I. ) The staff is female but I’m man.
I see. Sorry for the confusion.
Never mind!
Very nice post, as always. I think your daughter will remember this trip with pleasure, for many years. The nature looks so fresh and green, is it the best time of summer right now?
Thank you. I think so. My youngest daughter told the trip to her teacher at a day care. The trip sounded to be fun for her.
It’s really summer season because the temperature is about 35 degree every day.
ジャージー種の牛なんですね。
遠い日本にもいるんですね!
よくわかりましたね。日本で初の「洋式」牧場なんですって。
Cool experience! The March of Cows is interesting. I’m sure milking the cow was quite an experience!
I grew up on a crop farm, and we were surrounded by dairy farms scattered across the farming community – but we had three dairy farms very close to us, one each directly to the west, east and north of us. Most of the time the wind would carry the smell of the dairy farms to us, which was very strong. We often had neighbor’s cows end up in our yard or our fields, which was amusing trying to get them back to their owners.
I see. Your place is very nice to communicate with animals. In addition, it can affect children well. Anyway, it’s a great opportunity to learn about food and animals.
Love it. I’m always into farming. I grew up around goats, ducks, chicken and more. Thanks for helping me remember the simple joys Of my past!
Thanks for sharing. That’s good. Many animals make us smile.
March of many cows, I have never experienced that, how interesting, what is the purpose?
Thanks. The march sounds to be an event of the farm but it’s also exercise for cows, I think.
“You can also milk a cow by yourselves. You need a bit braveness and skill”:
Frizz: I wouldn’t dare – but maybe take a ride on the wooden cow!
You can do it. I found that some children were taking a ride on the wood cow.
wonderful photographs, Thank you dear Cocomino, do you know, in these days I watch NHK World English television program and I learn so many interesting things and places of Japan. Love, nia
I didn’t know that. Almost all people in Japan know NHK. I’m glad that Japanese culture spread to other countries.
It is really so nice television channel, we both love to watch with my love. Love, nia
Thanks a lot. Have a wonderful day.
Spent a very happy childhood growing up on a cattle farm.
Indeed. It was a good experience.
Wow! What a lovely and exciting cows parade! @ u @
Definitely. The march was so exciting.
