Green Tea Fields
Do you like drinking green tea?
Most of us like drinking green teas.
It goes well with Japanese dishes, especially sushi.
You strain the leaves with a pot as well as the tea.
You can see many green tea fields in local areas including my neighborhood. The field makes a beautiful scenery because farmers cut the trees neatly.
I found two cute ducks between the tree.
Sadly, it’s said that some fields are contaminated by radiation from Fukushima nuclear plants. If radiation isn’t detected in the tea area, the shops in the area still have difficulty selling them.

Very interesting. I wonder how the tea plants smell?
Thank you so much. The tea plants don’t smell a lot but it smells green leaves a little.
So fascinating and beautiful. I love green tea.
Thank you. Glad to know that you also like it.
I love seeing the Green Tea fields in Japan, especially in Shizuoka when passing on the Shinkansen to Tokyo.
Japan Australia
Thank you. Yes, Shizuoka is one of the most popular places for planting green tea.
I drink green tea all day long at work. No coffee for me. I like that Japanese green tea mix with rice and other bits too.
Thank you for stopping by. I’m really glad to hear that you prefer green tea than coffee. The green tea goes well rice.
I often drink it and feel comfort.
I am a green-tea enthusiast, and drink green tea throughout the day, both chinese (龍井茶, 碧螺春, etc.) and japanese teas (玉露 , 煎茶, and 玄米茶 …). It gives me great pleasure to see these wonderful photographs. I especially like the image of the green tea fields. What kind of tea is growing there? I am sorry to hear that some of the shops are having difficulty selling their teas, even when radiation has not been detected. I hope with time that situation will improve. The teas of Japan are beautiful and so delightful to taste.
It’s Japanese tea. The tea is called by the production area. For example, they are 狭山茶、八女茶。狭山 and 八女 are the names of the place.
We mainly plant 煎茶 which we drink the largest amount of them.
Thank you for worrying the area. We should believe the inspection result.
One of my favorite beverages alongside water, fruit juice and chocolate soy milk
I see. I also like fruit juice such as orange juice.
great to see the green tea fields, thanks for sharing
My pleasure. I’m happy to hear that.
the pleasure is mine
okay. I understand.
I love green tea, and these photos are beautiful!
Thank you for stopping by. The field is really beautiful.
i absolutely love green tea and those neatly, trimmed tea bushes are a sight to behold.
Thank you so much. I also like seeing green tea fields for a long time.
It’s like an art.
I had no idea that it grew like this. Thanks for showing us.
You’re welcome. Glad to know that you knew something.
These rows of green tea trees are like sculptures! They can compete with the formal gardens at Versailles or Windsor Castle anyday!
Yes, it’s like sculptures. Thank you for the compliment. The farmers must be glad to hear that.
How beautiful the green tea fields are. I hope conditions improve in which the farmers are more able to sell.
Thank you. I hope so. They need many support.
What a great shame! I love Green tea
However, I can understand people’s fears as I don’t think people in charge always tell the truth. Do you?
It’s a tough question. I want to believe the people in charge but I’m not sure if I let my children eat such food and drink.
I’m glad that you also like Green tea.
Politicians have “Spin Doctors” and at the end of the day it boils down to money. You are wises to protect your children. IT is the same with Genetically Modified crops, I always try to buy GM free food.
I see. Thanks again. It’s good to buy GM free food. I also don’t buy GM crops which aren’t sure if it’s safe.
I love green tea! It is a healthy beverage, and I have it every morning. I have never seen the green tea fields – how interesting. Thanks for showing us this.
Thank you so much. Yes, it’s a healthy beverage. Most of us like it. I was surprised that many people in other countries often drink it.
I drunk green tea everyday, I love it! My favourite is genmaicha but I’m also a big admirer of the green tea you drink in coveyor-belt sushi bars.
Of course, every one drink green tea in coveyor-belt sushi bars. It’s common for us.
I love green tea. I did not know what the fields look like so I am happy that you made this post.
Many thanks. I’m happy that you enjoyed the beautiful green tea fields.
I think tea plantations are beautiful, it must be so worrying the thought of radiation contaminating such beautiful plants,
Thanks. I think so. I strongly hope that the problem will be solved soon.
I do like green tea – and it’s healthy too!
Wonderful shot of the tea bushes.
Many thanks. It’s good to drink healthy tea.
I,ve never tried it
i feel like i,m missing out…. my partner drinks it. I may try and have a cup soon.
I see. Hope that you’ll drink it soon.
I love green tea, and I specifically try to buy Saitama green tea!
I’ve seen some beautiful fields near Tokorozawa, where The Hero’s parents live. PS: Those ducks are too cute! ^^
Thank you for buying Saitama green tea. It may be 狭山茶.
Tokorozawa is near to my home and of course, I know the field is beautiful.
Beautifully manicured fields. I do like drinking green tea and it is suppose to be good for you. If tea is a popular drink, why do your shops have a hard time selling it even without radiation contamination? Was it like this before the earthquake and radiation leak?
Before the earthquake, people were buying green tea from every places in Japan. However, if radiation is detected at only a few point, people tend not to buy the tea from all the area and brand.
People buy the food and drinks according to the name of the place. It’s not logical but emotional. In addition, some people don’t believe the result of the inspection. I want to be rational.
Beautiful and I’m inspred to try it now!
Thanks much. Green tea is healthy and it smells good.
Beautiful green tea fields, Glad you were able to capture the 2 ducks in the field.
Thanks much. I was lucky to capture them. My children found them and said to me.
I loved your photographs… They say it is so healty to drink green tea but unfortunately I can’t drink because it is not good for my reflue acid, makes me cough again… Thank you dear Cocomino, love, nia
I see. It’s not good. I hope that you’ll recover.
I don’t think I have ever seen how tea is grown / harvested before! Fascinating – and beautiful! I will have to show this post to my wife – she loves green tea!
I was very sad to hear about the difficulties the farmers are having. I can see how even if their fields were unaffected such a disaster would be enough to scare people away. Devistating…
Thanks. I’m really glad that your wife likes green tea. The field is so beautiful that it can be sight seeing spots although there is a problem.
Love the tea fields – so lush and peaceful!
Thanks much. It’s really beautiful.
I love drinking green tea.
I also love the tea. Thanks.
i looove tea!
Thanks a lot.
love your photos and love green tea too!
Thank you so much. The green color was awesome.
Some people who live right next to the power plant near me won’t eat food grown locally for the same reasons. To me, it is sad that people are so paranoid about radiation that they do silly things like avoid eating their own produce. That tea looks delicious, and it is clear the plants are healthy and well tended. Now, maybe I’m understanding things wrong (my Japanese is terrible), but from what I can tell the radiation levels inside the exclusion zone are comparable to what occurs naturally where I live; an hour’s drive away from the nearest nuclear power plant. Not only do I eat the plants, I eat the animals that eat the plants that grow around my house. (Which, theoretically, would have even higher radiation levels) My prospective life span is a hundred years if I take after either side of my family; the family matriarch is 104 this year. It upsets me that people waste food because they are afraid when so many children in this world go to bed hungry.
Thank you for sharing your thought. I understand what you said and I agree with you.
We can’t see the radiation and are thinking it more seriously than it is.
If the level is very low or zero, we should eat food which is very important for some people.
Anyway, 104 years old is great. Congrats to your family.
